Friday Feature... its not just for Christmas

Today I am bringing you yet another project using more of Lindsay Masons 2016 Sweet Dixie Christmas Stamp collection from Personal Impressions the main set used is Christmas Elf Door
*Please click on the Pink highlighted links to find more product details...*

I know its still August & we don't really want to think, hear or see anything regarding Christmas as the majority of us are clinging onto the last throws of Summer but this set is extremely adaptable for all seasons. Click here to see one of my previous LMDT projects in which similar effects could be achieved using the Elf Door stamp.

Here is a summary of how this card came to be in words and pictures..

Stamped twice and coloured using Trimcraft First-Edition Markers the door frame, number 25 and wreath ribbon are cut and paper pieced on top to give depth.

From the Sweet Dixie Lindsay Mason 2016 Christmas Stamp set Christmas Berries the Berry sprig has been stamped multiple times, coloured and each berry given a dot of glossy accents. When dry the sprigs have been cut out and carefully glued around the arch of the door frame numerous times.

The same has been done using the Fairy Lights from the Sweet Dixie Lindsay Mason 2016 Christmas Stamp set Fairy Happy Christmas These have been used to decorate the Tree background.

The background has been created using the colour, score & tear technique using just paper. The torn strips are then layered on top to create a bark effect (maybe something I could blog in more detail if people show interest.) The snow effect has been created using DecoArt Snow-tex a superb medium to add dimension.

The snow flurry bumps and balls can be found in the Christmas Elf Door collection and Santa please stop here from a Fairy happy Christmas

Ranger frosted lace stickles glue and a sprinkle of Indigoblu Unicorn Sparkles have been used to enhance & create sparkle.

I hope you have been inspired by my Creation... give it a go it really isn't just for Christmas.

Friday Feature.. The wait is over

At last the wait is over Lindsay Masons 2016 Christmas Sweet Dixie Stamp Collection from Personal Impressions is about to hit a store near you. Thank you to Personal Impressions I feel Blessed to be able to bring this to you all in the Spirit of Christmas.

Christmas can be a busy time for all of us and I am always looking for ways to create something that can serve a double purpose.
Today I have created a *Gift Card* a card that also carries a gift. Using Lindsays' Sweet Dixie *Glory to the Newborn King* stamp set, please click here if you wish to see the set.

If quick cards are your thing or need to make one in a hurry this project is perfect for you.

The Large stable image and twinkling star have both been stamped onto Black Centura Pearl card with versamark embossing ink and heat embossed using Pirate Gold embossing powder by Stampendous. The embossed image has been mat and layered onto antique gold card and glued onto a DL card.

The star has been stamped and embossed again and a glass heart cabochon glued on top. When dry the heart was trimmed and glued into a matching sized pendant bezel.
The pendant has been attached to the star on the DL card using removable glue.
I chose to turn the pendant into a key ring by adding a split ring but cord or chain could easily be used to make a wearable pendant.

There is room for a sentiment on this card but I quite liked the simplicity of it and felt the image spoke for itself.
Thank you for sharing your time with me, I hope you have been inspired.

The C* word... in August..!

In anticipation of the 2016 release of Lindsay Mason's NEW Christmas Stamp Collection from Personal Impressions I've taken a tip toe down memory lane to show you two Christmas Cards created using Lindsays' PREVIOUS Christmas Collections.

Both cards have been created by paper piecing using scrap pieces of water colour card displaying elements of Brusho.

The Tree has been stamped various times and each tier layered, the bigger the tier the more layers administered. The finished Tree has been placed onto a Distressed background and multiples of the Star Tree topper used to add further embellishment.

Stamped and paper pieced Hat, Scarf, Holly, Nose and Buttons using scrap brusho effects water coloured card. The Snowman has been raised using foam pads and glued onto a distressed background with embossed snowflakes, all stamps are from the same set. This delightful set also has the wording *Walking in a Winter Wonderland* ...most useful.

I do hope you have been inspired by my interpretation of something old.. I look forward to sharing  some of Lindsays' New Christmas Collection with you all very soon..

Scrap Happy...

Craft stash clear out Recipe of Discovery:

Aim:
To utilise remnants..

1: Water colour card with speckles of Brusho resembling Downy Feathers..
2: Two bottles of Liquid pearls found wedged down the back of a cupboard: Colours Dark Chocolate & Copper.

Method:

1: Stamp Lindsay Masons Zendoodle Big Owl RTG on to Downy Feather design
water colour card with versafine Black onyx ink.
2: Shake liquid pearls well (they had been missing for a while and had started to separate..)
3: Use the Liquid Pearls to fill in the stamped design.. Just follow the lines & patterns..
4: Add Ranger stickles glitter (Gold) for texture & sparkle.

Conclusion:

As the Liquid Pearls had lay dormant for a good few years the oil within them had caused the liquid to split. The effect given was different to how the Liquid normally looks. The pigment looked like oil on water, different shades showing with every line drawn, a great effect when your not necessarily looking for a continuation of colour.
I may just have to hide a few more bottles down the back of the cupboard..

Thank you for your time & interest... Creative hugs from Tracey xxx
